Depends how close she was to all of her sewing gear. It looked like they were in a room intended for showing off the dresses, not her workshop. The only reason she needed the pins was because she was freaking out and decided the hem needed adjustment when it was probably fine.

Also, Spike's scales probably keep him from feeling anything. It's not like if you just stuck pins in yourself.

I'd actually like to see Spike's durability come into play a bit more. Everyone in the cast can tolerate insane ammounts of pain, but Spike's the only one with a canon justification for it

My headcanon is that Luna lost (part of) her immortality along with ther evil when the Elements Rainbow'd her, and the immortality wastransferred and shared among the fillies, thus causing them to be as resilient as they are.

he does have a lot of Butt Monkey moments that he brushes off in a few seconds.

and I agree with the idea of the parents being foils. again Rainbow Dash's parents would be the opposite of her, leading to many "embarrassed by my parents" moments.

You know, nowhere in the show does it refer to Celestia & Luna as Physical Gods. They might just be extremely powerful, long lived ponies.

I'm guessing it is assumed that Celestia and Luna are goddess or have god like qualities. Living for an exceptionally long periods of times (in their case, well over 1000 years) and have immense powers no unicorn can match puts them in a very high status. Not only that, Habro can't get away with calling the sisters goddesses without angering many religious people.

Don't make me fire Pinky's party cannon.
