I just added it to my watchlist and check it from time to time.

Ponies think so too, because otherwise how did she become captain of the Wonderbolts?

Talent? Leadership?

So who here is planning to play Fighting is Magic, and which character do you plan to use and why?

In fighting games I always make it a point to learn to use every character, except maybe one or two I just can't stand, but for my Mane I'll probably use Rarity.

I'm typically drawn to characters who use a lot of flashy special moves because they're stylish and fun to figure out combos with. She's also a zoner, which I like pretty well.

Coming in second is probably Pinkie. She's got a really interesting unique combat style. She seems like one of those gimmicky characters who just tries to confuse you and relies on unpredictability, yet at the same time she is a pretty powerful straight forward brawler. I can't really remember any character of that sort in any fighting game I've played, so she looks pretty fun to use.

Of course, at this point we've seen nothing of the Pegasi, and I'm certain to want to use Rainbow Dash since she's my favorite.

I'll probably suck at all of them in equal measure. I'll try Twilight or Pinkie though.

I know nothing about fighting games but I'll probably give it a try just for fun. I wonder what the videogame club at my school will make of it. I know that some of the officers are bronies.

I think someone broke ATC.

I'm not like a hardcore fighting game enthusiast or anything, but I really like Arc System Works games and I've played a few others that I was really into.

@Blue The only fighting game I've ever played is Super Smash Bros. Brawl, and I don't know anything about the Mane 6's fighting styles, so I'll just try each one until I find one I'm good at.

Aside for the SSM games, I don't play fighting games.

Speaking of games, what does Norse thing of the Olympics?

I usually go with characters I'm interested in and teach myself how to play as them. So Rarity and AJ. I seem to have a pattern of sticking to zoners though*. Pinkie looks interesting, but the fact that she's a charge character is putting me off a bit.

You people need to play more fighting games. D:

Arc System works has good stuff, and Skullgirls is pretty great. The devs of Fighting is Magic have compared it to Mv C 3, too

I don't even know what zoners, brawlers, etc are. But Pinkie looks the most interesting. I might go with Rarity instead since she looks the best though.

@colin
Norse thing

I resent that.

Anyway, I outdate the Olympics, both modern and ancient. It's always fun to watch, though, so I know who to send invites to in the afterlife.

The truth is, it's hard to make any kind of a decision on characters when 2 of them haven't been seen yet. RD's 3rd Level Super is definitely a Sonic Rainboom or a Rainnuke though.

Thinking about it again, AJ's may be more up my street to start with.

@Skystrike: It goes like this:

Applejack: straightforward aggressive brawler.

Rarity: magic user who keeps enemies at a distance and slowly chips away at health while remaining out of reach.

Twilight: aggressive magic user, controls enemy movements with trap spells and keeps pushing forward to attack at both close and medium range.

Pinkie: weird mix of unrelated abilities and aggressive brawling.

As far as I can tell.

@Blue: I'll probably test out all the characters before settling on the one I like using most. I tend to stink at most fighting games anyway. I'll probably be terrible at this one, but hey, ponies.

@story I read that as:

Applejack: Get in close and spam.

Rarity: Stay away and spam.

Twilight: Run backwards setting traps and spam.

Pinkie: Spam all the things!

@Sky Strike: Yep, that sounds like Super Smash Bros. strategies!

Most fighting games have more depth to them, and FIM seems to be pretty deep. Which is not to say that SSB isn't fun, it's a blast, but it's not a particularly balanced or deep game.
