According to my headfanon, he's Pinkie's uncle, which would explain her accordian skills.

On the topic of who's stronger Celestia or Luna? Luna beat Celestia. Twice. Once before the banishment and then she beat Celestia again in a matter of seconds after she escaped. So I'm pretty sure Luna is the more powerful of the two.

I liked the idea that Weird Al would voice Rainbow Dash's dad, and the episode would be about Rainbow Dash realising that her dad and Pinkie Pie are very similar. Or something like that, I forget the details.

That was Nightmare Moon, not Luna.

Well, they're some weird scitzo split ponynality but...

Fuck it, if you don't get my logic, whatever.

I think NM might have powered up Luna a bit, maybe taking away her inhibitions about hurting others.

This made me love Rainbow Dash.

[up][up] I think Lauren or someone mentioned that Luna was controlled by an outside force when she turned into NM.

If Weird Al does a guest appearance, that would be just about the most awesome thing ever.

And yeah, there's enough of a difference between NM and Luna that they probably aren't at the same power level. Luna is almost certainly weaker than Celestia, but Luna + whatever turned her into NM is probably about the same; maybe a little stronger. Although pure power doesn't always decide the victor after all.

We've had this discussion before, several times. Nightmare Moon is Luna, but changed by something else. Lauren Faust herself has said so.

The prologue in the first episode is the Old Mares Tale version of the story, not necesariily the true one.

Yes yes, Nightmare Moon was Luna, but it's plainly obvious Luna wasn't really herself.

They looked different, had a different voice, acted differently... The only thing that makes Nightmare and Luna the same is that they shared a body.

[up]Maybe. But she was at least partially responsable for what she did. The prologue is canon and the fact that she ha to aplogize denotes that.

Even if Luna was manipulated by an outside force, that does not necessarily infer that this outside force increased her power. For all we know Luna has the same Power Level as Nightmare Moon.

[up][up]Not much I love Luna as much as anyone. But I think is a bit wierd for me how she is portrayed as completely innocent a victim even.Sure whe was a victim but not blameless.

I don't want to be a Single Issue Wonk, I will wait until she makes her appereacne to judge her. sorry for the derail tongue

Of course she was partially responsible for what happened. My point is just that Nightmare Moon does not equal Luna; it's more like Nightmare Moon equals Luna plus E. (The E stands for Evil.)

I always see it as Luna got jealous, and this jealousy made her weak enough to fall under the influence of whatever it was that controlled her. By removing her inhibitions and realizing her full potential, Nightmare Moon got a "power boost." Theoretically, Luna could do this, but it would probably require some sort of meditation/self-judgement deal.

^Luna plus Halloween episode plus Villain Song (or song that unfortunately for Luna resembles a Villain Song)? We can't handle that kind of awesome!

Speaking of awesome (and music), the new opening is slated to start this weekend with episode 3, right?

When Luna and Celestia were attuned to the Elements of Harmony, do you think they each had three of them? If so how do you think they'd be split?

Celestia would obviously have laughter, but other than that I'm not sure.
