@Seraphem: Can we just admit that whether or not you enjoy it is a YMMV thing? You're kind of making it sound like "The story is objectively awesome and some people just don't get it". I'm not saying it's a bad story or anything, just that there are elements it includes that prevent me from enjoying it that have nothing to do with the quality of the writing.

I've read a fair way past the first few chapters and I never really cared for it. Can you just accept that some people just aren't interested and leave it alone?

The Harkonnens turn out so absurdly over-the-top wicked I found House Corrino to be more compelling as villains.

They're pretty over the top evil too.

It's some side-story thing. By a different author, but I'm perfectly confident that, when I get to it, I will hate it just as much as the rest of the story.

@Veni: To be fair, the only explicit stuff is in a side chapter that was written by somebody else and technically isn't part of the main story. Although the story itself does have some fairly disturbing subject matter.

All I can say about F:E, since I suck at arguements/debates, is that it's one huge YMMV thing. I'm in the "Like's it" camp, but if you don't like it, that's fine with me.

Coincidentally, the stuff I've written is a pretty good indicator of the types of stories I'd like to read (minus the crossover I'm experimenting with). Stuff that takes the show on it's own terms rather than modifying it to include external elements.

Also, what Marston said. I don't dislike FE, I'm just not really interested. Not my type of story.

Yeah nothing is for everypony. And yes the only explicit stuff is in chapter 20.5 which is a side thing written by a different author the kkat has accepted as cannon.

And was just saying you gotta get past the first few to really tell, if you did and don't like, no biggie. Don't think I really got into it till around 12-13 or so.

Yeah, even when I disregard Pannic's liveblog, I still think that FOE is kind of a "TL;DR" deal for me. I like stories that are short and sweet. I also don't like reading about OCs much.
