I'm starting to hate the word "overrated". Like "Mary Sue" has devolved into a word that often means little more than "a character I dislike", I feel like "overrated" is a word that has devolved into little more than "popular thing that I dislike".

I hate "constructive criticism" for same reasons.

from what I understand everyone admits the actual writing is atrocious for MLD but the story is what gets them.

At least "constructive criticism" has the benefit of being a positive concept. But yeah, it does not mean you can be a caustic jerkbutt, that's not very constructive at all.
