She was indeed pretty. But there was no long-term potential there.

Having a girl ask me out would certainly be superior to the other option. But, I've been planning to adopt in the back of my mind for a while now in the event that I don't get amywhere closer in the next few years. I want a family more than I want a girlfriend.

EDIT:

That. I'd actually be okay with that even though it's not optimum.

I would love it if a guy asked me out, but I know that it'll never happen if I just sit around waiting for it. On the other hand, I'm terrified of the alternative.

EDIT: But if I'm gonna be alone forever, it's nice that I can always count on sharing forever with you guys.
