I think the writing is decent, but the execution is severely lacking.

But really given that it's the equivalent of three fourth graders (only one of which has real musical talent) doing the production, they did rather well.

Ah yes, she's probably not very familiar with any sort of polyphonic music. Her mind will be blown.

Speaking of Prog Rock, my dad just got on a plane this morning to Finland to play a concert there with Neal Morse and Mike Portnoy (former front man for Spock's Beard and former drummer for Dream Theater, respectively). I just hope the massive jetlag combined with the fact that Finland has 20 hour days this time of year doesn't screw him up too much.

@JT He auditioned for Neal's tour band (he's a solo artist now, so he only has one-two consistent band members) and made it in, and Mike plays drums for Neal all the time. He's even gotten to record a bit for their next album.
