I've decided that I don't like our fandom's obsession with technodubstepstuff. Why can't we be more like Touhou fans and do some good classical and rock?
There's tons of Classical. Tons I mean. In fact there is some ungodly fusions of Classical and Techno Dubstep.
The problem here is the fanon of a specific character seems to be determining the popular music genre. Just make a dubstep song and add Pon3 and voila: Instant recognition.
@CDRW Good instrument sounds cost hundreds of dollars. Seriously. All I have are crappy synth sounds that I could do techno with if I felt like it, but if I wanted a good orchestral or rock sound pack, I'd have to shell out some crazy $$$.

@ Lurker: I know that, but if you pick the right instruments, you can still do classical for free. It won't sound quite like the real thing, but it won't sound bad either. I did all of these free, and the only one that I think sounds terrible is March of the Mayflies.
If I could actually not be lazy, I could probably come up with some half-decent piano arrangements if I screwed around long enough. Unforutnately I don't have the time at the moment.
I just never got the association with Vinyl and Dubstep given that she doesn't play anything remotely resembling dubstep in either of her appearances. Both times she shows up it's almost entirely pop-rock. It's like if the fandom arbitrarily decided that Octavia plays only romantic-era pieces or something.
Also, there's a crazy thunderstorm here, and it's freaking awesome.
