Back when she was executive producer, Lauren Faust said

that Celestia embodies the traits of Earth ponies, Pegasi, and unicorns, but much more recently, the trading cards have listed

Princess Celestia, Princess Luna, Princess Cadance, and Nightmare Moon as being Pegasi and unicorns but not Earth ponies. Make of that what you will.

As for the new character, here's what little context we have: the quiz is "Your dream wedding location!" and the question is "Who should be the MC?"

Choosing Princess Celestia helps you get the quiz result "Like a true princess, your dream wedding location is the royal court of Canterlot!"
Choosing Zecora helps you get the quiz result "You have a taste for adventure! Your dream wedding location is the Everfree Forest!"
