I found it far more intuitive than the majority of fighting game moves, where it's "hit random button sequence to combo". At least in smash, it's "forward and A to hit forward, up and A to hit upward, etc." rather than "left, right, up, B" or something.
So it's intuitive controls for a fighting game. That's saying a lot.

Anyway, I noticed that we hit the 10, 000 page mark while I was gone. Who got the lucky post?

Fighting games my skills progress little above keeping up with smash bros. When you get into shit like attack cancelling and combos my ability to learn goes out the window.
I played some Marvel Vs Capcom 3 the other day. Sucked at it.
@story Like I said, it's literally "direction + attack = attack in that direction." I don't know how you could make it more simple without having the game pick the attack for you.
@story Wait, what do those stats mean?
If you stare into the abyss long enough, it stares into you.
Element of Indecision.
And it's not as simple as just direction + attack. For example, Kirby's ground UP+A attacks behind him.

I never understood Marvel vs Capcom. Surely a Marvel vs DC game would make more sense?
I don't play many fighting games. Smash Bros is pretty much the only non-licensed-game one I own, and I haven't played it in months.

Haven't we been through this before? It's the most unique words for each group of 1000 pages.

@Story It still hits above him as intended, and Kirby's limbs are so stumpy that it makes sense for it to be awkward like that.

I think maybe Fighting Games are an inherently complicated genre. Especially when you have dozens of attacks and only two buttons.

Well, the franchise is "_________ vs Capcom."
It's not any more complicated than a normal action game, really
What is a 'normal action game' anyway? It sounds to me like it's just a classification for anything that requires realtime input and doesn't clearly fit another genre.

An idea for a Pixar vs Dreamworks fighting game just popped into my head.
How about a Nintendo vs Sega game? I'd love to play as Ecco.

@Purple Pixar would destroy.

Would WALLE be like ROB?

When they crossover, all the characters are equally effective regardless of their canon power. Just look at
MVC 3, where a 2HP wonder goes against an immortal reality warper.
