So...does that mean that someone else raises the sun and the moon in other parts of the world? O_o

Or is it kind like how you'd find things in Greek/Roman or Norse Mythology where Celestia and Luna are just smaller parts of a larger Pony mythology?

My understanding is that she raises the sun for the world, but only rules over Equestria.

And yet somehow, I'm having trouble figuring out how that would work, exactly. Unless I go back to the idea I came up with just a couple posts prior where Celestia and Luna are part of a larger pantheon of assorted super-magical beings. wild mass guess

What's not to get? She raises the sun, but only asserts authority over a finite part of the world. It's not like she's going to hold the sun ransom to expand her kingdom.
Ruining everything forever.

Zebras in general, for that matter.

Dragons, possibly? That giant dragon in Dragonshy had to come from (and later move out to) somewhere.
I took a guess and cut a portion out of my heart.

I conducted a social experiment at work last week. I sang the first few bits of the theme song as I passed my coworkers (all of whom are in the 19-25 year range). These are their reactions.

Coworker #1: -odd look- what the hell...?

Coworker #2: -Stare- I'm going to pretend I didn't hear that.

Coworker #3: Are you singing what I think you're singing?

Coworker #4: See #2

Coworker #5: Dude, have you seen the new My Little Pony show?
Me: Yeah.
Coworker #5: Boss, aint it?

Regarding Celestia and the Parasprites: I would have to agree that Celestia did feign ignorance to help Twilight cover her tracks and simply made up the town of "Fillydelphia" to make the story seem more complete. Twilight is a notoriously bad liar and would have needed all the help she could get if she was come up with a convincing story for the other ponies of Ponyville.

Coulda sworn Fillydelphia has been mentioned by other ponies though.

I had a rather amusing pony related exchange at lunch today:

Friend 1: So, what've you got on that flash drive there?

Me: The first two episodes of My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic.

Friend 2: Gay much?

Me: No, not really.

Friend 2: o_0

Friend 1: (*Gestures to me, while explaining to friend 2*) See, he's what people on the internet would call a "Brony".

Friend 2: Huh?

Friend 1: That's a term for a fan of the new My Little Pony show, I personally try to stay away from that kinda stuff...

Me: That might be a little harder than you think...

Friend 1: What do you mean?

Me: Apparently, there's going to be a pony Minecraft server pretty soon. We're taking over the internet.

Friend 1: 0_0

Friend 2: (*Pokes Friend 1*) You ok?
