If somebody did admit to being a ban evader, they'd be stupid enough that we probably wouldn't want them hanging around the thread anyway.

What I'm afraid of is being accused of failing to report a ban-evader, when I didn't even know in the first place. What am I supposed to do, report every new guy that comes in?

I dont think its your job to report ban evaders. Mods have tools to detect them, leave it up to them to take care of that sort of thing.

I mean, sure it's one thing to actively hide someone you know is ban-evading, but what if you don't? Maybe I just don't keep that close an eye on who comes and goes? Am I supposed to be paranoid now? Spend hours of my time suspecting everyone just to be doubly sure?

Im kind of oblivious to that sort of thing anyway. I honestly didnt know that Pinkapie, et al.. was Applejack Pony. They werent in the thread all that much and they got banned before I joined the Pony thread.

Now if they PM'd me and said "hey its me ________" then I'd be oblidged to report them... as lousy as I'd feel about it

Well there were a few people who said they knew that Pinkapie was Applejack Pony after he got banned again... they might be liable.

But if you honestly didnt know, I would hope you wouldnt be liable.

Yeah, I think there were people who did know he was ban evading. I personally was a little suspicious, but I didn't report him because I wasn't sure and he wasn't really around enough for me to tell. But yeah, let's just move on and talk about ponies.
