I gotta quick question: Why does a large portion of the furry community despise MLP so much?

[up]Hmm. Maybe its just a small but horribly vocal and trollish part of the community.

I'm guessing it's a Vocal Minority thing, but I'm not a furry, so I wouldn't know.

It's just a thing I guess. Kinda like the rivelry between bronys and sonic fans {Which sometimes cross's over with the furry drama}, except that it can result in some very disturbing pictures.

[up]Yeah I don't get that. Which is too bad because I think there would be some great crossovers involving rainbow dash and sonic.

[up]I think that the sonic hate comes from a few possible things. 1:Idiot's who are stuck with the "CLASSIC SAWNIK FOREVER! DOWN WITH MR PORCUPINE!!"{And yes, that's actually what some of the classic fantards like to call modern sonic} mentality.

2: Hardcore furry haters that assume that Sonic is furry, so they hate him and don't want to see pony's involved with his so-called "Furfaggotry".

3:Most brony's are afraid of the fanbase becoming like the Sonic fanbase {Fair enough}, so they don't want any kind of sonic stuff to pop up or else the fanbase will become a mess {This kind of thinking is just plain dumb. Insane troll logic at it's finest, folks}.

Keep in mind that this is what I speculate the hate to be based off of, I never said that any of these complaints are logical.I have seen ponibooru users talk about this kind of stuff before, so all three of these could be true. Doesn't stop any of it from being stupid though.tongue

Hey, if people are furries, I got no problem with that, I've been into some kinky things myself, so it's not my place to judge. [lol]

I think it has to do with a whole buncha furries thinking bronies are "Furries In Denial" (*NOTE: Anyone who uses this phrase seriously should be shot*)

Hell, for a while Fur Affinity had a "My Little Brony: Denial Is Magic" banner.

URGH, ENDLESS DRAMA.

Inane 242: Wait, what? Their are seriously furries that think that bronies are furries in deniel? That has to be one of the most stupidist thing's I've ever heard of, and I've heard of alot of stupid shit.

Just for the record, I don't have a problem with the sane furries at all, but the hardcore brony hating ones {Especially the ones who make fucked-up shit to troll bronies. Ugh....} are freaking annoying.

They show anthropomorphic personalities and fairly often do things like stand on their hind legs and do generally un-pony like things.

That was a really fun episode. I really liked how it displayed Rainbow Dash's talent as a leader who motivates people and not just a meathead.

I know. Makes me think that she'd be a good leader for the Wonderbolts.

Rainbow Dash: THE REPUTATION OF THE WONDERBOLTS ECHOES FAR AND WIDE! WHEN THEY TALK ABOUT ITS BADASS LEADER, THEY'RE TALKING ABOUT ME! THE MIGHTY RAINBOW DASH!!

The Lion King counts as furry. I don't see why MLP shouldn't.

Just giving animals human personalities counts as anthropomorphism.

That being said, liking MLP doesn't make you a furry. "Furry" is such a loaded word at this point that it's better to just define it as "anyone who agrees to be labelled to as furry".

Which actually really reminds me of the word "brony". Apparently, there are people who think: "I'm a fan of MLP, but Bronies are fucking nuts!" Because to them, "brony" means "hardcore fan" or "lunatic". Then there's the debates about whether women can be bronies, or if the word is age-specific. Ugh.

Which then reminds me of the word "feminist". I'm pretty sure that word means "a person who thinks that women and men should be equals". I'm a feminist by that definition. But of course, there are the lunatics. And now I know plenty of people who think feminists are all "men are all rapists!" nutsoes. And I also know a couple of more intellectual people who think that feminism has run its course because men and women are already equal, and we should have a new word which doesn't emphasise the women anymore.

I hate these labels. They're all about trying to establish some completely arbitrary groups, sometimes going "Hey! You belong in this group with me! We're brethren!" and sometimes going "I'm going put certain groups of people under this label and then call them all fucking lunatics! That'll teach them!"

I do not recall what it is off the top of my head Kerrah, but some women fans have come up with their own term for female bronies. I'm logging off now and am too tired to search google, but that term will be found there I suspect.

It's "pegasister".

Which sounds even more awkward than "brony", if you ask me.

Saw the new episode. Not a bad one, although not among my favorites. Is it just me, or was the drawing style (and especially the facial expressions) somewhat different from usual?

Which sounds even more awkward than "brony", if you ask me.
I thought that the awkwardness was kind of the point?

Well, it sounds goofy and a little awkward, and that makes it a bit amusing. In general, it seems to me that the whole "brony" phenomenon is, to some degree, about reclaiming the possibility to be awkward and goofy, if one wants to.

It is no coincidence that Derpy Hooves is a fan favorite...
