Okay, I just happen to be a little tierd right now but can't go back to sleep, and I can't always tell what people mean when they type things {I'm kinda dumb like that}.

So, anyone hear about this season having 28 episodes instead of just 26 like the last one? What could that be about?

I think Pinkie is funny (though admittedly part of that is how the others react to her), but I can see why other people wouldn't like her.

My problem with Pinkie is that she always doing the same thing. Of course, other characters have their gimmicks too, and that's part of what makes them adorable, but they... hmm, how to say it... seem to have more variations on their general theme. Dash boasts about different things, takes different risks, has different "I couldn't care less" poses. Rarity can be a drama queen by fetching coach out of nowhere, crying exaggeratedly, lamenting everyone's manners, fainting, criticizing and so on. But Pinkie seems to have less variety in the way she does her thing.

For the same reason I often get bored of Fluttershy, by the way, but she is excused by occasionally having an absolutely epic moment of awesome

I agree.

And though Fluttershy is my favorite, I agree that she is much like Pinkie in the way that there's no variety with her gimmick.

Another reason why "Bridle Gossip" is one of my favorite episodes. Baritone!Fluttershy and Swollen!Pinky.

In all honesty, I'm only a mild fan of MLPFIM, so it's hard for me to feel anything more than mild amusement or mild disinterest for the characters.

Like I dislike the CMC, but even that is more of a "meh" feel than a "KILL" feel.

I think Pinkie is okay, and the only time I really didn't like her was in Over A Barrel.

You know, I think I've noticed a bit of a trend in the fandom. People don't seem to mind at all when you create an alternate version of a character who already has a canon personailty. People in general seem to enjoy Trollestia, psychopathic Pinkie, lesbian Rainbow Dash, and most comics/fanfics where somepony acts uncharacteristically flirty or emo for shipping or hurt/comfort purposes, yet when someone creates their own interpertation of a background pony, people lose it. I wonder why that is?

^^Wow. EQD, I'm dissapointed in you. I happen to like that girl's derpy voice {That's how I picture her sounding when I read a webcomic or a fanfic}, and apparently people are whineing over it. Those comments are what I would expect to see on ponychan, not EQD.

Uh yeah Season 3 was confirmed by Tara Strong and another voice actor. It may go into a Season Four but I doubt it.

No, it was confirmed to be in production by Tara Strong and Nicole Oliver. But I read that it was actually confirmed at Brony Con. Though I 'm not sure if it's true yet.

Really like Granny Smith's backstory as the backbone of Ponyville's boom. Interesting to see that Canterlot was in a very visibly more feudal state in the flashback and "modern" civilization only came about in the last small handful of decades — no wonder Luna felt so out of place with a cultural revolution that fast. Good to see at least Diamond Tiara's dad isn't an asshole, but being enough of a sugar daddy to spawn what he did is only so much better...

Applejack got passed over again Poor girl hasn't been getting any focus because any episodes that would have been written in her direction keep slipping onto her family instead, and they're really pushing Apple Bloom as a deuteragonist now that Twilight has grown up so to speak.

I saw a post on AH.com's resident pony thread which postulated a ponified place name for Damascus as "Destriascus". This got me thinking: what would a pony Fantasy Counterpart of Arabia look like? One of the only inklings I have right now is that it would be based either on the Islamic Golden Age or the Bedouins.

Pinky Pie just is comedic relief. One has to accept it as such. of course there won't be much character development to that. At least she fits to her element. I still think it's Rarity who's most unsympathetic, and even that Spike episode couldn't fully change that impression.

As for the new episode - hah. As always, Equestria's whole physics/biology/history/etc. is fully aesop-conform
