Since I'm probably going to be watching this show, when does it start supposedly Growing the Beard?

I want to know in case the first episodes aren't as good as I'm going to expect, so I can keep watching and see if it really is as good as everyone says it is.

Depends. Some people love episode 9 to pieces, but I don't think I was sold on it until maybe episode 10 or 11. Most people seem to agree that the beard is growing by episode 4.

I like the beginning overall despite it being cliche. I admit some parts were a bit over. But it's hard not to like the climax of the first arc anyway. It's a relief when it's over though. It's one of those things that's good that it's "just the beginning". It's like if a cliche jRPG has a HUGE aftergame. And you beat the last boss in the first 6 hours. And then an open world of fun opens up to you.
