@Kuro: It actually kind of works with AJ. One of the differences between being a good scientist and being a good engineer is that engineers don't always need to be able to explain why what they did works, as long as it does. I could see AJ being more of a "greasemonkey mechanic" engineer — she doesn't know the theory behind a lot of what she does, she just learns what works hands-on, through a lot of trial-and-error and explosions.

I mainly put Fluttershy as medic because Rarity already has the position of spy in my head. I did once see some amusing fanart of Flutter Demo, though.

On Scopelight Sparkle... Ok, that was terrible, BUT ANYHOW: Snipers while not the slowest class are the least likely to move around. Twilight, while not helping friends or at one of pinkies parties is usually cooped up with reading. And she was quite a recluse before moving to Ponyville. Snipers usually play quite solo, what with camping and waiting for unsuspecting targets to come to view.

Scout Dash was pretty obvious, both hyperactive, smack talking speedsters. Though Scout breaks the 4th wall, Dash doesn't. "Go ahead, RAGE QUIT!"

Pinkie Pyro... Well, not too sure what else would fit her. Though Fanon likes to lable Pinkie as unstable, Soldier seems like a fit too. But looking at TF 2 again, they're ALL whacked in the head! So I guess Cloudcuckoo Pyro And Cloudcukkoo Pony go together. Plus Pyro gets the silliest hats, Pinkie wears the silliest things on her head.

Demoman... I have seen pictures of Zecora taking the rule, due to the whole "black thing." But who is the fanon drunkard? Why it's of course the Over Protective Parent Pony, Berry Punch!

Heavy... Either Big Mac or "Hero Spike" maybe.

Someone else should be Engie than AJ. I mean, she doesn't seem the type to be good with machines. Closest that comes to mind would probobly be Twilight, if someone else would be Sniper. I mean, Twi has a laboratory in the library basement and is a total brainiac.

Spy... Well, Rarity is the only candidate so far with more than one qualification in regards of personality or talents. Of course, we could binge through some Fanon on background ponies.

I'm tired, I need a rest... Confound these ponies and their crossoveryness.

Well, Big Macintosh uses his "fancy mathematics", so maybe he could be the Engineer.

Twi fits the Sniper more than the Engineer. The Engineer is a cool, laid back, non challant guy you could imagine kicking back and having a couple beers with. Twilight...not so much. However, replace "beer" with "apple juice" and you've pretty much got a description of AJ

Come to think of it, I think Pinkie Soldier and Spike Pyro probably works better than Pinkie Pyro.

In my fanon, I see Big Mac as a type of Chick Magnet or Casanova type. Just because that'd be awesome. Most humanized pictures of him portray him like this◊, so I could see it working

Big Mac isn't nearly enough of a douche to be a Casanova, but I can definitely see him as the Chick Magnet, or even (purely fanonically) an Ethical Slut. Particularly when the population of a given area is 80% female, an attractive and (from what little we've seen of him) level-headed, strong and silent Nice Guy has gotta be pretty in-demand.

Also, based upon that picture, the Apple Family has some pretty strong genes for being cute (Applebloom), sexy (Big Macintosh), or both (Applejack). I imagine Granny smith was quite a looker in her day.

As for the apple family being attractive thing, I think that's just the there-are-no-ugly-people thing (which I'm assuming there's a trope for)

I wonder if the parents of the mane cast are ever revealed, other than Twilight's and Pinkie's. We still don't know who AJ's are, we only know Granny Smith. And AJ's weren't at the family renuion either.

I can imagine Big Mac getting a lot of Even the Guys Want Him too. I mean hell, I want him (when humanized, obviously) - thought granted, I'm not the best judge of that.

I find it hard to really imagine Big Mac getting around much, though. He seems like the sort of guy to be pretty faithful, the 'settle down, raise a family' type. 'Course, Cartoon Lion may have spoiled me with all her fluttermac.

no no, that's not what I meant at all. When I say it's spoiled me, I mean in the same sense that the son of a cordon bleu chef is spoiled for food - that initial experience is so good, so sweet that anything different just feels wrong. So I saw cartoon Lion's fluttermac pictures, my heart instantly went into mega-daw mode, and anything else involving Big Mac seemed meh in comparison. So an OTP, I guess.

It helps that she draws pretty much every gender variation, so even if I feel in the mood for some m/m Big Mac, there's fluttermac!

I just watched episode 14 - the one where Rarity makes dresses for all the ponies - and I think it's my favourite so far. And it had rather unusual aesops for a children's show - something like "Sometimes you can't please everyone, so you just need to do what you think is best and ignore everyone else" and "Let the person who actually knows what they're doing go ahead and do it, rather than sticking your nose where it doesn't belong".

Valid aesops, just... not what you'd expect.

How severe a case of Ruined FOREVER reaction do you think Season 2 will cause?

Just from what we've seen so far, the characters and dialogue are about the same, and Discord looks like a fantastic villain. So I'm hoping not too much.

But we've only seen about a minute's worth of footage, so only time will tell.
