For the record. This ban MIGHT be appeal-able after a cooldown period. And serious amounts of Repentance and promises to never blow up again.

But then again it might not. I don't know the admin who made the final decision.

Those are all acts. Rolfe and Walker are very calm reasonable people when not making videos. And if someone acted like they did in character on the forum, their asses would be shown the door.

As for amount of blow ups, I've had maybe one blow up on this site. Ginger has had DOZENS in short concession, and NEVER LEARNED.

Maybe it's because I only blow up on certain topics that most people don't like to talk about, but Ginger's topics were ones that everybody liked to talk about?

We are all guilty, for we enabled, enticed, enraged, and provoked ginger; we wanted him to blow up so we could have our interesting discussions and lulz.

Oh, Galileo was such a butthole! He never listened to anybody else's views, was arrogant to the point of irascibility, and he never even let Kepler, the one person who actually liked him, borrow his telescope. Not even once. Galileo, you son of a female-dog-used-for-breeding!

Yes, and this is another reason I feel like this is unfair to Ginger. We WANTED him to behave the way he did. You can't say you want someone to rant and then punish them when they actually do.

I'm just pointing out that the same stuff that got Ginger banned would've gotten a lot of fine people banned. There's just something wrong with that on a site that claims to encourage "breezy thought and original language" or whatever the front page says.

That's a pretty sound summary of the situation.

The biggest question is...can he change his ways? It's probably unlikely...but pressure can make people change. Prehaps, if he was allowed back in, I could keep him under control by threatening to disown him if he got banned again. We could claim it's spitting in our faces after all the effort we put in to get him back.

A long shot...but you never know.

Ginger wasn't a jerk. He was merely unreasonable, and he acted in such a dramatic, extreme, and angry way because that's what we wanted him to do. He acted that way because we wanted him to.

Ginger was a nice person who simply acted mean.

I don't know why you guys are denying it. I recall every other day people posting things like "let's see if this ticks off Ginger!" and the like. Other times we'd be unreasonably obsessed with trying to get him to watch or read stuff. We put pressure on the guy.
