Cool. I'm glad to know they're out there. FIM is what convinced me that fanfiction counts as legitimate literature, but the only fanfic outside of FIM that I've heard people talk a lot about is Harry Potter and the Methods of Rationality, and I really didn't like that when I tried reading it.

Me too. MLPFIM convinced me that fanfics are worth reading, however I recently started losing my fate in funfics again :/

@Sonic Fanfics: There are some pretty interesting authors out there. Netraptor quickly drops her semi-broken OC Slasher from prominence, and her fics have a strong consistency and entertain me. Shax the Raptor outdid all his later works with Project Mobitropolis, merging Sonic 2 and the SATAM backstory into a consistent and terrifying whole (also providing an utterly horror-filled prototype roboticizer scene which makes a young Sonic puke in revulsion). Murr-Quan Lord did some interesting fics in the Netraptor fic-universe. Dan Drazen, for all his semi-Roger Ebert-style old fart criticism of the Archie Comics, actually did some neat fanfics that slot beautifully into the SATAM continuity, so he clearly knows what he criticizes about.

I am indeed a Sonic fan, but I refuse to paint myself with the rabid fandumb brush and just play the actual games, and sometimes read the comics. Admittedly I did break out the popcorn and laugh at the drama in the hacking community during the early 2000s, but I was young and foolish and easily bored. Also yes I did some fanart before. Long ago, when my drawing technique was kinda raw and unrefined.

Yeah, didn't the current writer of the Archie Sonic Comics start out with fanfic? I haven't read any of the Archie universe, but I've heard things.

This was originally a Twilight fanfiction, so it's not unheard of.

@Gex: Oh yeah, Ian Flynn. I never really read much of his fanfics, so I cannot remember if he was part of the fanfic writer group that made the OC Packbell so pervasive in SATAM universe Sonic Fanfiction.

GRRM started writing with Marvel fanfiction. And yet he hates anybody writing fanfiction of his stuff.

Also, why doesn't YouTube just ditch the autocaptioning? Did they even test it at all before releasing it? They should know by now that it doesn't freaking work.
