Which part is the Monk intro? Do you have a time? That doesn't really help. :[
@Scratch/Dubstep. She played pop-y music in those situations because that was what was called for. Dubstep wouldn't fit a fashion show or a wedding. But anyway, I always consider Scratch to just be a DJ in that she would play whatever would get ponies dancing. Dubstep just falls in that category.
@story Those were all good. I liked when the cores were yelling at each other.
"Dammit we know! Everybody knows! Space! We! Get it!"

@Norse: I don't really count you in that list. Your pretty much the ponified Thor, not an actual charector from mlp fim. So don't feel bad, allright?
@Story Cave Story 3D has been out for a while. It's certainly pretty looking, that's for sure, and the music remixes are awesome, but there's no added content. Still worth it to be able to play the game on a 3DS, though.
@Kyler I refuse to be in anything less than an OT3.

@Norse: Thanks.
@Kyler: Norse is cool, but no. I don't swing that way.

@Sky Strike: Ditto (some of the static animation creeped me out a bit as an infant though, I was an odd kid).
The sad thing is I can still remember most of those themes and which engine they were linked to even now.
I have to admit they chose Pinkie's theme perfectly there.

How many different sockpuppets have we had in this thread, anyway?
#240944Psi 001Mon, 2nd Jul '12 5:27:29 PM
Sky Strike: From what I remember they had specific music themes for everything (I still have the theme they used whenever there was a runaway engine stuck in my head).
I love things with Leitmotifs. Maybe that's a bit into why I like Sonic as well.
@Psi I like Leitmotifs too, but I have trouble picking them out. They're really prominent in Up, but I didn't notice them until I watched it with director's commentary.

This show has a few Leitmotifs, too, though I can only think of Rarity's off the top of my head.

Sky Strike: I think it depends how distinct they are. Sonic's stand out for example since they often use unique instrumentations and moods for each character that fit the genre (compare Amy's SA 1 theme to E-102 Gamma's for example). It may not stand out as much in Up because it's nearly all orchestral and majestic so harder to specify.
The ponies have more Genre Motif than actual Leitmotifs from what I remember, in that the music tone isn't a specific tune but more a style change (eg. RD's electric rock or AJ's western guitar).

Here's a great theme for a fast-paced "tour" of the scenery and characters in a locale.
Okay, then maybe Rarity is the only one with an actual repeated theme. It's just a short little harpsichord bit, but it's quite consistent. You can hear it here before the horns cut it off.
The only lietmotif in the show I can really pick out is the CMC theme. All the others seem to have more stylistic themes; RD is rock, AJ is country, etc.
