I've been in a community that had an active thread as well as a live chatroom for general hanging out. Of course, the situation was a bit different there, considering that the community was one with creative output that couldn't be posted in a chat. You'd be surprised how little time zones really messed up chat activity, though.

I actually kinda prefer the forum. The chat takes our tendency for derails and random crap and turns it Up to Eleven. Which is fun, but there's not much in the way of real conversation.

Kyler Thatch summed up why I'm not getting a skype account. That, along with the fact that the skype website is asking for information that I don't want to give out but that anyone would be able to see if they checked my {Non-existant} skype profile.

So I'm fine with staying here, thank you very much. Just as long as the thread stops dying in the middle of the day.

I think "life support" is a bit of an overstatement. It's a bit slower than usual, but it's hardly close to dying. It's still posting a comparable rate to a lot of other threads.

That honestly sounds really amusing. Just be careful not to fall foul of the whole "no bashing" policy.

It really only got that way for a few minutes. I've been in there for hours and it's been pretty conversational.

I see bans in the future if this continues.

One guy in the Homestuck thread got banned for continuously (as in twice) stretching the page to a ridiculous width. That's a thing you can do, apparently.
