@Moe: Rage tirade in the Fallout Equestria thread. He's also had a history of thumps and he's gotten temp banned before, so the evidence was against him.

Also, can we not freak out about this again? It sucks that he's gone, but the last thing we need is more drama in the thread.

Indeed, it does suck. I still think this thread is hardly a lost cause, though. I'd hate to see the whole thing fall apart because of something like this.

I've gotta say I'm going to miss Ginger, he was a very interesting person and reminded me of myself in many ways, even if I disagreed with him on some other things. I did try to be a friend to him and tried to be someone he could rant to who wouldn't judge him harshly. But I can also understand why he would be banned, or at least get in trouble, especially if the writer of the fanfic in question was involved.

On a different topic that I saw much earlier in the thread, I LOVE the idea of Octavia having a Cockney accent, not only because I love British Isles accents, but also for the Stereotype Flip potential.

Speaking of accents, when I rewatched Sweet and Elite (in my rewatch of the series), I noticed that at least one of the other elite ponies actually sounded more American rather than having an RP accent like the others. It's also my personal headcanon that the RP accent used by many of those Canterlot ponies is possibly something that is put on as a fake accent, possibly in imitation of someone like Fancy Pants who naturally has that accent. It's obviously not a general Canterlot accent, since Twilight doesn't speak that way and neither do the Canterlot ponies shown in stories OTHER than Sweet and Elite. Or something only taught to ponies who are in certain elite families and went to certain schools that Twilight didn't go to, like how RP got its elite status in real life.

I'm honestly sickened by the "he was banned, let's stop talking about him" attitude. Bshaw. What are we, a superstitious 13th-Century village of thatched huts? Guy was great, had the potential to be a great sage equal to heaven if he would only loosen his self-imposed restrictions a bit. And I still think he could improve. The ban irks me not only because I liked him but because all I think he'll take home from it is affirmation that "everyone is against me."

I mean, I'm in a weird spot right now... I perfectly understand Meta Four's reasoning, so I can't really be mad at it... but fuck reason, I'm gonna be mad anyway. Being mad feels good right now.

I only hope Ginger gets back to me via PM. He's at least got one friend here.
