Not sure. I don't think they would have been religious hard liners. I was just thinking more of the style...black with big hats with buckels on them etc.

Well, with phrases like "As Celestia is my Witness" that do imply they treat her divinity fairly seriously. Though on the whole they seem like a more secular society in general.

I think so too, and for good reason. She's a powerful, wise, old creature, but she doesn't have any more claim to moral superiority than a normal pony. So she really shouldn't be treated as a god.

Eh. Personally I think Celestia probably should be worshipped, even though she might not want to be.

I mean, she's almost all-powerful, and has neigh-on godlike insight and wisdom. I mean look at how near-perfect Equestria is.

Celestia divinity status is up to fan interpretation because canon not made it clear. But I'm with both ways so I don't really care for that, and I'm fine with if fanfic show her worshiped or not.

But I wonder if they can give as proof that Celestia is god for ponies, because Hasbro or Moral Guardians could be angry.

Because he know I'm going to go out in this plane and I'm going to remove one of His creations from His universe.

Depends on what the meaning of god is. Celestia certainly isn't a creator, and even the raising of the sun thing can be done by ordinary unicorns.

Yeah. The reaction of, say, the Cakes in A Bird In The Hoof is closer to "random person meeting the Queen" than "random person meeting God". There's terror, certainly, but it's a relatively restrained and polite kind of terror.

Well they do make statements like "with Celestia as my witness, " which unless there's another Celestia somewhere, seems to imply divinity (or at least percieved divinity).

Although... it was Rarity saying that...
