Starscream's Death Montage in Animated is pretty funny

@Super Gex: Making vibrant heroes isn't impossible, there are a fair few examples of badly done villains vs likeable heroes. Just vice versa is more likeable.

Invader Zim plays with it a bit, since it's kind of a deconstruction of a Villain Protagonist show. Making Dib likeable isn't as hard since he's from a Hero Antagonist setup so any genuinely sympathy he gets is more a nifty bonus.

Anger level rising. Stevebat Faces a mysterious foe. Having forced a shutdown his computer no longer starts back up. Theoretical area of issue: Power supply. Possible range of damage, Anywhere from a broken switch to a dead motherboard. In the former case situation must be jury rigged via electronic engineering (My dad). In the latter situation all hell broke loose and I will need to get a new computer. And I will be PISSED. Because I wanted to wait on that computer.

Which means I will have to settle for using my moms computer for at least 2 more paychecks and then wait a couple weeks for the parts to ship.

Zim is a Villain Protagonist, his sympathy comes more from lead spotlight, so he gets more Sympathetic P.O.V. than others, rather than being genuinely likeable. It's possible to be a total Jerkass but still be more sympathetic than a completely benevolent character due to sheer pathos.

Granted Dib is made to be kind of sympathetic, even if he's still something of an Unsympathetic Comedy Protagonist. The whole show was a Crapsack World so the whole cast can only drive off of ineffectual sympathy.
