Afternoon ponies. What's up? Seems we got a lot of pages this morning.

I'm just going to say that I fully agree that RD has a bigger ego, I just think that Kegisak is exaggerating her goals a bit. She's explicitly trying to impress the Wonderbolts, but outside of one Imagine Spot I don't think she ever assumes that they'll let her in after she does one awesome thing. I always figured it was more "make a good impression so when I officially try out they'll remember me", which is perfectly logical for somepony in that situation.

Yeah, trying to get herself known before she goes into tryouts or however the Wonderbolts pick members isn't a bad plan. They probably don't accept new members very often, so she wants to make as good an impression as she can so the next time an opportunity comes up she has a reasonable shot at getting in.

And I am back. I played some Sly 3 in the interim. Pretty decent so far but Carmelita's VA bugs me for some reason

Death Cloud: I don't really keep track of the writers, sorry. I tend to ignore credits when they pop up.

Yeah, the only writers I really attach to episodes are the infamous ones. Although given the ranking, I'd have to say that Polsky bottoms out on my list. "Over a Barrel" is one of my least favorite episodes, and "Feeling Pinkie Keen" is more or less average at best.

You can check wiki. I used it to made that ranking.

I don't mean rank writers. I mean rank episodes of particular writer and don't compare it to to other writers.

So I was thinking of another idea for a villain. It would be a corrupted element of laughter Yes I KNOW FOE ALREADY DID THIS Stop accusing me of copying goddamnit A villain who, with brilliant inspiration has come to the conclusion that no pony should ever be sad again. His solution: (G-Rated) Mind Rape! Ponies who laugh all the time surely have no time to be sad. So they. can't. stop. laughing. I was thinking of a villainous clown (Ponified Marx) but there are a couple other ideas too!

Like other major villains (Windigos, Changelings) this villain would be an emotion eater.

Well looking at the list of writers I can't say any of them really stand out as my favorite. All of my favorite episodes (A Canterlot Wedding, Hearth's Warming Eve, A Dog and A Pony Show) were written by different writers. Interesting that Merriwether Williams wrote one of my favorite episodes, but all of the other episodes she wrote were either average or below for me.

@Bluespade I repeat - it's not writers ranking. Each writer have separate and unrelated ranking for his/her episode.

Do you think My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic will end at 65 episodes? I hope it doesn't. For starters, the show has done a good job from what I can see. Also, season 1 has 26 episodes and season 2 has 26 episodes, which makes 52 episodes for those who don't do fancy mathematics. It just makes no sense to me if they pull the plug on the show while season 3 has 13 episodes, as a result of a 65-episode limit. Why would a show be limited to the number 65 anyway?

I hope that MLP:FIM doesn't fall victim to what I would call The Goliath Chronicles Syndrome. What's that, you might ask? Well, that's when a show gets cancelled at the 65-episode limit, gets picked up by a different network...which then proceeds to alienate the Periphery Demographic and turn it into something so cartoonishly childish that nobody can take it seriously. That's what happened to the show Gargoyles, and the way they put Character Derailment on that loser John Jerkass Castaway!

Yeah, I wonder if they'll have Trixie lose to Twilight in a fight, and Trixie runs off, yelling that hammy and Narmtastic line, "DREAM OF ME, TWILIGHT SPARKLE! DREAM OF MEEEEEEEEE!"

On the plus side, though, a line as Narmy as that would fit Trixie way better than it ever could on Castaway!

Wow, I just caught up with the thread, and it's like everyone decided to go ahead and go through every single inconclusive debate we've had in the past, and go through them in order. My opinion on the topic is rather neutral, considering that I'm not sure how you're supposed to quantify an ego for comparison in the first place. Not to mention the fact that a character having an ego is a good thing, because it adds to their characterization and gives them believable, relatable flaws.

I still wonder why on earth Lauren left the show. She had a gold mine here.

Yeah, the way they've been handling the show proves they're smarter than that. I'm pretty sure we're at least getting either a full season, or else a half-season and a goody.
