These kids next door are kicking a window... for fun.

It ended up breaking and then there were screams as they all got a royal hiding.

I was working night shift at the time and needless to say I didnt get much sleep...

@ginger Ouch. That happens to me sometimes when I restart. How far did you get? To delete Pokemon save files, you have to go to the title screen and press Up+B+Select or something convoluted like that.

Usually there is a way to reset the save so you can start a new game. Unless they went the Capcom path and made it so you cant restart the game at all. (Resident Evil: The Mercenaries is the game Im thinking about here)

@Ginger Looks like you completely ignored/missed the warning that popped up when you first started a new game. I could have sworn that it let you override the save, though, when you try to save in a new game. Are you sure you read the message right?

It didn't tell me how to delete the previous saved data till I tried and failed to save my current data. It forced me to quit my current game and lose all my progress in order to clear the saved data...

I was up to the first gym leader

@ Lurker: Newer Pokémon games don't let you overwrite with a brand new save file, you have to delete the old one with the button combo first.

@Lurker I didn't ignore it, I ust didn't see ANY way to delete the previous saved data from the menu screen. I figured there'd come a point where the game would let me overide the data as I was playing. Why would it let me start a new game if I'm incapable of saving? What kind of asinine system is that?

@Ginger The kind that overly protects current save data because most people tend to pour hundreds of hours into a single game save, and almost never restart. That, and most people save the game as soon as they're able, just in case, rather than an hour or so into the game.
