I just wasted the past 3.5 hours inking and coloring a cute and funny image of Derpy waving hello to someone while watering her plants and accidentally soaking Spike.

But for some reason the files got corrupted, I couldn't save it, I couldn't export it, as a sai file, as a png, jpeg, nothing! I even attempted the autorecovery trick which resulted in the work being just gone.

I just wasted 3.5 hours. Hours I could've spent playing Minecraft, Magicka, or Oblivion. Time spent drawing something. Time spent writing my book. All this time was Wasted on a layers of detail, wasted!

All that work gone in a bleeding flash! It was so nice, I was planning on having it up tonight and it's just, gone.

Well it's not like anyone would've cared if I had posted it anyway. Stupid accursed good for nothing technology... So tired....

@Mousa: Ouch, I know how that feels. I remember once working for a couple days on a story I was writing and losing six solid pages worth of material. Well, at the very least you can say that you got some practice in. But yeah, it's terrible when things like that happen.

That sucks Mousa, but just because you lost the drawing doesn't mean it was a waste of time. It was practice.

Now I can never do it again! I've already done it and it's all gone! Now I can't do it again! It was supposed to be a crowning achievement, an image for everyone, if they even cared, but NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! Nothing to show for but a worthless sketch!

Yes, it was a waste of time. No product exists therefore the time was meaningless.

The only advice I can offer is to make redundant backups.

Just because there's no physical object left doesn't mean that the time is worthless. You were drawing and therefore honing your skills so you can make something even better in the future. Yeah, it sucks, but that doesn't mean it's a total loss. Get what you can out of it; it's only a total loss if you treat it like one.

Well I waste time all the time.

Don't read fanfiction, already read it months ago anyway, November approximately.

I don't like effort with no results. It's why I save everything. I have hundred of drawings in folders for each of my individual story ideas, everything is valuable, time used has value, without the result of the time, then what was it worth? Perhaps some water effects I would've already figured out anyway?
