Re: end of page-before-last: Thanks for the compliments [lol] But I don't always find everything or find things right away; for example, I think I remember somebody in this very thread mentioning that "A Canterlot Wedding" was originally a single-part episode with no villain, but I've just done a bunch of searching and can't find it (and I never got around to asking whoever it was where they heard that). I wonder if storyyeller could find it...

Also, late, but @Applelight: I hope things turn out okay.

One thing that annoys me about FOE.

They generally portray the Zebras as being better overall fighters.

Do we have a trope for when clawed animals use their claws as lockpicks? [lol]

Cuz I bet Gilda uses her talon as one

Twilight. She learned how to open doors from Celestia.

@Ginger I don't think we do. But I recall Scooby-Doo doing it all the time.

Has Spike ever actually used his claws as... claws? like to swipe at someone or cut something?

I mean as a baby, not when he grows up in SOME.

I got a question. Celestia's School For Gifted Unicorns...it teaches magic yes? How does that work?

Considering that only Twi has 'magic' as a unique talent as far as I know.

I am under the impression that while that Unicorns are specialized in their own areas they can learn magic from other areas that they are not so good at.

Well Trixie certainly seems to have magic as a talent.

At the academy my views is that it provides honing for the spells that the noble unicorns can use. Occasionally there are unicorns like Twilight who can learn many types of spells, these unicorns are given much more indepth training and a longer course.

Also not just magic is taught.

So who teaches at the academy? Is it just Celestia?

Because the thought of Twi being a complete teacher's pet to Celestia is adorable.

I doubt Celestia actually teaches classes, more that she owns the academy or it's dedicated to her. Occasionally she'll take on board a student who has more aptitude than their peers.

@ Ginger: Trixie is a mare of many talents.

Rarity could probably lockpick with TK, Littlepip style, she certainly has the dexterity for it. Twilight might be able to, but most of her telekinetic displays have either been highly orderly and static, or straight brute force. I bet Fluttershy could teach an animal with nimble paws to pick a lock, too, if she wanted to.

AJ MIGHT be able to learn how to lockpick, but she'd never intentionally learn it.

because Lockpicking is bad, yo tongue

@ Apple: Yarp, for an example, we're fairly certain Lyra attended the academy, her focus would presumably be on music magic.

[up] If by lockpick you mean kick the door down then yes I agree.

Do you guys ever find that? That sometimes a work is so bleak and dark that you find it tiresome to read?

Yep. Then I stop reading it. smile

[up][up] AJ would probably just buck the door off its hinges.
