I have to admit I'm just not a fan of Braeburn in general. When he got introduced he was so overenthusiastic that I found him a bit grating.

The main example on that list which catches my attention though is Kanda from D Gray Man. His arc almost ruined the manga for me

Have you ever read Legion of Evil? It's a pretty good alternate Mane 6 fic, with some deconstruction of that genre.
