While I never used it, ponibooru was a pretty big thing in the community. Sad that it's gone.

Well at least it will still be with us in spirit (and content).

In other news holy sheet, there's a freeware clone of Burgertime available on Linux and its actually slightly better than the real thing. Man the more I discover this operating system, the more I love it.

I just realized something. Amon and Avatar State!Aang are the only ones immune to bloodbending. Amon is like the spiritual side of Korra.

If it were any site other than Ponibooru, I might care. The site is far too slow to be of interest or use to me, unless I want to use it to time boiling an egg...

By the way, remember to make backups of everything. Everything. If you forget and lose your stuff you fail yourself more than anyone else because it's hardly any effort to create a redundant duplicate on a mirror site and extra copies stashed away on spare USB flash drives.

Honestly, I wouldn't have found out about a lot of good artists without Ponibooru.

@Ed: Thanks, I'm reuploading all the stuff I did from last year as well. These ones are from late 2011, shortly after I joined the (new) herd (Since I'm a total hipster and kinda liked ponies back in G1 ).

At times like this I ask myself if I was a bad user or not.

Ponibooru was one of the top pony sites. It was also constantly overloaded and laggy, and suffered from weak moderation that could not handle image and comment spam on a site this big. (For the total of its run the average new uploads daily was around 30 pages = 450 images or so.) The fact that so many people (like myself) still used it regularly is a testament to the impact it regardless made.

Eco is a decent person who did his best and I think he only deserves praise.

Still, while I regret Ponibooru's closing, I can at least hope that this means a chance that the next site that takes on the role may succeed better with the same problems.

Hmmmm, bit iffy on Moonstone cup now that it's gotten to the actual tournament... I'll just have to see how this goes

So, Ponibooru has stopped allowing uploads, and will fully close before long. A shame, but we have Derpybooru willing to take up its load and become its successor, so most of the art shouldn't be Lost Forever.

So long you slow, slow website, lets hope your successor can take the strain.
