@Pannic and is he competent?

Well, he does have Valjean on the run for several years and successfully infiltrates a student revolution until Gavroche blabs who he is.

[up][up]"Competent" needs to be in Something You'll Like's lyrics.

More than once.

@ Crow: Doesn't mean that Fluttershy didn't try to help Rainbow FAP. Especially after Rainbow defended her honour.

Rainbow was the last of the Mane Six to FAP.

@Pannic that really doesn't sound very competent

[up][up][up]I was under the impression Fluttershy had yet to FAP in Flight School. And it would be better to FAP for yourself before you try and help others FAP.

[up][up]And ginger unintentionally helped Pinkie FAP.tongue

pretty much replace any time RD sings, awesome with competent

But after Rainbow defended her honor she was stuck on the ground, so she couldn't FAP with RD. That doesn't mean she wasn't thinking of her when she started to FAP though.

It's too bad Javert has a massive long-running DOES NOT COMPUTE moment that ends in tragedy.

Also, I just want to state for the record that I do not know anyone in this thread. Seriously, you guys are embarrassing.

Well, that's kinda what Ginger likes, right? Valjean doesn't beat Javert by being stronger or smarter - he wins because he proves to Javert that he's wrong.

Anyway, back to my pile of musicals and operas... And singing practice, for that matter.

[up][up]I was thinking of saying something, but I gave up a long, long time ago.

And by pointing out an innuendo, I have caused the thread to become endless innuendos. Great.

@Pannic doesn't really work unless Javert proves to be both of those other things first

Well, Valjean does have a cozy little job as a mayor until he blows his cover and Javert runs him out of town.

Hm. Pippin could do, it has a very charismatic villain in the form of the Lead Player.

Basically, he's the head of a theatre troupe and he basically plays the protagonist like a fiddle through his life, with the intention of having him set himself on fire in the "Grand Finale."

@Pannic Well, I don't like that song you linked to

Hm. Shame. Back to the drawing board.

Admittedly a lot of musicals don't really have straight-up "villains." In many a golden age show the antagonists tend to be either fairly non-malicious or just don't get a whole lot of songs. Giiiiiimme some time to think...

Btw, I think the Chess song "No Contest" just gave me the perfect line to sum how I like heroes to win

You taught me, baby
How the few who win acquire
What their hearts desire
It ain't practice, it ain't skill
They'll help but not as much as wanting will.

Into the Woods still gets a recommendation. While the Witch isn't quite as clear-cut a villain as one might think, well... she does pretty much kill the Narrator and suggests handing Jack over to the giant. And she gets this song:

If you don't want to listen to "Your Fault, " "Last Midnight" starts around 1:30.
