Ah. I think I technically have pokemon-hipster cred, as I was a fan a good half a year before it was imported (my best friend had an older brother who was into Japanese stuff in a big way, had a bunch of oldschool anime fan-subbed vcr tapes, this was before internet streaming was a thing) but I lost interest in the series shortly after I beat Pokemon Red. I've never gotten back into it.

just popping in to second this. Chinchou and their evo, lanturn, are pretty high up on my favorite pokemon list.

Dunsparce would be utterly forgettable if they didn't have serene grace.
