I like how, maybe as a show of complete dominance, Discord grabs the mane cast, not by their bodies (Which wouldn't be hard for him) but by their elements. It's such a powerful image: a god like being grabbing you by the one thing you have that can beat him

That dress reminds me of those types of dresses that you need a wire frame inside of to keep stable.

I just thought her nature-y side kept getting through and overpowering her sense of fashion.

On that subject, where did she get such fashion sense? I always assumed she was from a really rich family, and her parents are ashamed that their daughter is a hippie.

I'm personally sticking with my theory that her parents are athletes (or at least highly physical), and are a lttle dissapointed that their daughter didn't grow up to be a strong flyer.

As to her fashion sense? I have no idea, maybe she took a course on the subject at Cloudsdale University.

Actually, do we know if that dress design was Fluttershy's? She's asking Rarity for a specific French style of dress, maybe she found that design, liked it, and showed it to Rarity as an example of the style she wanted.

Does Equestria even have universities? The only thing we've seen that's comparable is Celestia's school for gifted unicorns, and needless to say, I think that school focuses on magic. Not to mention it apparently acts as an alternative to conventional schools for fillies (if Twilight being allowed in as a filly is any indication)

Do Equestrians have to rely on apprenticeships in order to gain skills in their respective fields of interest?

is quite interesting, and some trivia.

The original concept for her boutique was that it was a cross between a shop and a merry-go-round called Carousel Couture. Originally, Rarity specialized in carousel designs, but that little detail didn't make it. Plus, bridles seemed to weird everyone out, which is understandable.
