Well actually, the mongols rode on horses so stout they pretty much were ponies... shaggy, shaggy ponies.

@Kegi: Yes, I do like the idea of Fancy being the actual name of the language and possibly the place. I prefer to think though that some Gryphons are from Fancy. Not all of them.

Yes, I knew the mongols were magnificent horsemen. particularly fame for their mounted archers. But if I recall corectly there are a number that manage reindeer herds currently. Or perhaps I'm just confused.

@kegi I like the idea personally, and it's also my headcanon that the precursor to Fancy had an influence on whatever language the ponies are speaking.

What about goats? I like to think they live in the same nation as minotaurs and tend to be lower on the totem pole than them but what can be above minotaur?

Another thing I thought about was something called the Chimera Republic or something, basically a nation of lions, goats and dragons.

That's a great idea. Griffons are a French/Norman warrior people and they speak fancy. Awesome.

I'd just like to take this opportunity to remind everyone that the concept of cheese eating surrender monkeys is bullshit. Do you know how many military terms are French in origin?

@Kegisak I prefer all other coutries named after other areas in Pretoria, because there are many awesome names there.

But I think Fancy could be name of city or part of coutry. Just like it's Trottingam.

But why that make AJ uneducated?

Because he know I'm going to go out in this plane and I'm going to remove one of His creations from His universe.
