I like heroes well enough, but I'd never enjoy a movie solely because I liked the mane character

@Ginger You've said it over and over, and you know what, it doesn't make any sense. Who cares if you don't know what you like exactly. No one does! This is why you try things. If you like it, great! If you don't, no harm done! It's what everyone has to do. You don't get to go around looking for things, dismissing everything recommended to you just because you're not absolutely sure you'll like it, and then complain about not having anything to read/watch/play. It doesn't work like that. Ever. For anyone. You say you need an anchor. Well, it is nigh impossible to get an anchor without trying it first.

You're great to hang around with and all, but you seem to have a misunderstanding of how finding entertainment works at the basic level, and it's causing you far more trouble than it needs to.

Okay, back after a 15-page absence (had stuff to do in the real world today).

The earlier sockpuppet tomfoolery left me with a headscratcher though:

Why is it that whenever I or somepony else present the idea of Ponies keeping humans as pets, there's always at least one person who equates it to slavery?

1) "Pet" and "slave" aren't the same thing.

2) Even if they were, the main character of the show clearly keeps a servant. I think if Spike flies, a human who fulfills basically the same role would as well.

Just a thought.

I finished watching the first season of WITCH last night!

It did get pretty good, but the season finale was... pretty anticlimactic, really.

What all youse got against Breaking the Fourth Wall? Sure, sometimes it can just be lazy, but sometimes, it's really funny! Tropes Are Not Bad, homes!

I happen to LIKE the 4th wall. I like imagining that what's happening in the story is actually happening.

Drawing attention to the fact that I'm watching a story gets on my nerves

There are a number of stories I like that don't have antagonists, that are more about character growth and that kind of thing. A number of movies and plays I like follow this - The Glass Menagerie, Sunday in the Park with George, Company, yadda yadda.

And some stories that would be better without an antagonist (hello, Titanic).
