It's to do with looks. AESTHETICS!!!! I don't like the dark look on good guys. I just don't.

Ginger: Well three of those are meant to be hated (and even then get A LOT of Draco in Leather Pants treatment), three others I'm sure are extremely popular even with haters in mind while the remaining one is a minor character I don't think gets much flak.

I think both of the aesthetics have big selling points. Dark is cool and elegant, while Light is confidant and strong. They're both very nice and can be applied wonderfully in all directions. It's largely a matter of personal preference in the end; I'm a night person so I enjoy the night aesthetic(although I also really love a well done light aesthetic for the sort of sense of 'purity').

And of course, ebing personal preference means that what another person prefers should in no way shape or form influence or affect your own opinion or enjoyment of the matter, just as yours should not affect theirs. There is no right or wrong in this situation, not even democratically.

Dark is weak to fighting and super effective to ghost and psychic. Spiritomb and Sableye are the scariest pokemon because as the Ghost/Dark mix the have no weaknesses.

Well I actually like Celestia's look more than Luna's too, but Luna has a more interesting personality. Celestia has a really cool design though.

Admitedly Celestia is designed as The Ace or Team Mom and doesn't really delve too much away from it, her role is intentionally to some extent meant to be a bit one note.

I prefer Luna because she is more humanized, though having a whole episode to herself helps.

@ginger: For the last time, disagreeing with you on something is not a sign of personal amnosity. Please keep this in mind while reading the top of this comment regarding my opinions on Celestia. *cowers behind laptop*

@Lurker You seemed to have a problem with me not liking Dark Is Not Evil

Thing is, I'm a fan of evil. My reason for liking Light is Not Good is because I love seeing the corruption of something so pure and majestic and how it maintains it's radiance while still being used for evil.

It's why the Big Bad of my original story is an evil angel.
