Half-dragons are a staple of fantasy. Why shouldn't the Spike/Rarity romance go anywhere? Personally, I'm rooting for him.

There's a bit of a poison oak floating in phase space that Discord was the result of such a union between a pony and a dragon.
The thing is that the weirdness of dragon aging means that the concept of pedophilia doesn't really work when applied to them. As long as Spike is both emotionally and sexually mature, it should be fine.

Yeah, I'm fine with that pairing on a character basis. Biological considerations, though... I'd rather not go there.
Even if draconequii are half-pony, half-dragons, doesn't mean that rarity and Spike's child will be evil like Discord.

I still don't think draconequii are a real species, but Discord just chose that form for the lulz. I mean, he has nearly limitless shapeshifting and reality warping powers, so for all intents and purposes he probably has no true form.
It'd be ironic if you hit Discord with a nullifying antimagic effect and find his base form to be incredibly plain and boring.
Because he know I'm going to go out in this plane and I'm going to remove one of His creations from His universe.
