and I had discovered several things that raised serious implications about Pony Canon, and they all got swept under the rug. Why is it this thread never talks about Pony anymore unless its a fanfic or fan game?

Well, it was in the middle of everyone leaving and Ginger reading something against his ideas of good characters.
I remember seeing the comic a while ago, and thinking about it, but I can't see Celestia as doing something like that.

Well I had realized one line of dialogue implies there are other creatures like Discord... thought you'd be interested in that...

People latching on to a new line of discussion is kind of hit-and-miss, as it is with most other threads.

I'm not sure where to go with the implication that there may have been or are or will be other draconequuses.

I prefer to think Discord was a result of an attempt to engineer a super-powerful life-form.

@Moe: Probably because we've gone over them so many times already. My personal interpretation of the Draconequus line was that most ponies view them as an archetypical mythological creature rather than as an actual species. Cheerilee was saying "this is a draconequus" in the same way that we'd look a centaur statue and say "this is a centaur". It doesn't necessarily imply that more of them exist.

Really, I think the Changelings bring up way more problems given that they can blend into pony society with very little effort and unlike NM and Discord, they aren't really neutralized, just booted elsewhere.

Oh, well, that's not exactly new concept, and there's not much you can do to extrapolate on the topic other than various fanworks (which has been done), considering that the only detail is that whatever Discord is has a name.

That's pretty much what I thought too. But we have no evidence one way or another and probably never will. The idea of a solemn, respectable version of Discord is kind of hilarious though.

Oy... I'm back from spending a whole day hacking apart robots and monsters just to get a bunch of parts I don't need... in between utterly depressing quests and story. *sigh*

In any case, considering Discord's abilities, it's pretty obvious that he can take whatever form he pleases, and the Draconequus is what he prefers, most likely because it is a chaotic mishmash of various creatures.

Actually, it would be interesting if real Draconequi turned up later and they had never even heard of the guy.

....it wasn't obvious to me. I mean yeah, he did all that shape shifting, but I figured those were illusions, and the mish-mash body is how he really is.
