As said before, I think the problem was that all of Rainbow Dash's jerk moments were kinda stacked together (though I admit there were a bit more of them this season) with her redeeming ones kinda later on. When they finally aired most of the complaints simmered down.

Some other characters were exagerrated a bit in Season Two, but had a better episode rotation. For example if Lesson Zero and It's About Time aired back to back I think people would have made as many accusations about Twilight's neurotics getting Flanderized.

It's a shame really as Rainbow Dash did actually get some good development this season, especially with Fluttershy.

Perhaps the only thing that was noticably absent for her was more prankster antics with Pinkie. That HAS to be brought up again.

True, it would have been nice to have more Pinkie interaction though. I like seeing how many unique relationships they can make with the cast, while we still got some in Season Two, there were noticably fewer than in the first one.

The cartoon world obviously has different rules than our world. I don't think there's any mistake that you can't write yourself out of (albeit maybe not always satisfyingly) in a setting with this much fantastic shit going on.

@Dalek Yeah, that would work for Hyacinth. I'd assume the rest of her family would also be Earth Ponies. Not sure what Richard would be. And I'm imagining Onslo as a Pegasus for some reason.
