Hi guys.
That's still not likely to happen though. You're autoamtically conditioned to not be attracted to people you were around when young, even if they aren't biological siblings.
#196102SeraphemWed, 16th May '12 12:19:36 PMfrom Delamare
well it's not so much "get" there powers, as learn to harness the power they've always had with-in them.
except said conditioning has a window for imprinting that closes well still fairly young. After that there's nothing but societal squick keeping it off limits. Plus they never actaully went thrgouh that, nor do they remeber having gone through it so for them the imprinting doesn't exist.

Alrighty, time to bite down and read chapter 6.
At the end of the last chapter they were getting ready to listen to the Apocalyptic Log from the stable they were going through. I imagine there are going to be a lot of these sorts of things. Wonder if it'll have any relevance to the plot.
Time to read!

that stable...no.. but it is pretty damn creepy.

Actually, that one is relevant, because it sets up the Stables' modus operandi, IIRC.
*grumbles about characterization some more*

@Ginger: Seraph is right. They've all had the power the whole time and have even been using them on a basic level, but this is where they learn more of what they can do. Well, with the exception of a certain yellow pegasus we call Fluttershy who gets a little boost.
@Pannic: Talking about FOE? If so, they're mainly there to show you how stable-tec worked. There aren't a lot of stables that Littlepip visits though.

Ah, yes. Hi, Scootaloo! Here to give me a reason for being bored in the last chapter, I see?
And blimey, ended forever ago and six people have the doc open. Damn.

ah true, was thinking JUST of the log part..I.E. the Chimeras forgot about factoring in the whole preview of how Stables worked thing

Scootaloo is more or less my favorite character in the fic at this point, if only because she rants at one point about everything I hate about what the setting has done to the characters. Of course, said setting is more than likely going to turn around and crush her for that, but it was cathartic as hell.
#196110PannicWed, 16th May '12 12:29:58 PM
Eeyup, reading, almost enjoying it: mention of who Red Eye is, mention of DJ, improper use of an inverted comma, aaaand author quoting lyrics I don't recognize...

I'd say "almost enjoying it" would be an adequate assessment of my opinion of the fic thus far, as well.
Like I said, the setting will crush her like all of the other canon characters and make me hate it. I just haven't gotten to that point yet.

Seriously, I think as you go along you'll start to like the mane cast more and more as their backstories are revealed.
don't tell me you hate FOE!AJ?

...Am I the only one here who actually played FF 6? If Pony Fantasy is just FF 6 with ponies, then anyone whose played it should know exactly what will happen in the plot. :/
#196115Perpetual LurkerWed, 16th May '12 12:36:50 PM
AJ and RD are the only ones who haven't been derailed so far. The world just warps itself to make every decision they make a bad one, even if it would have been a good one in any other story.

Example for AJ?

AJ assumes that ponies are good natured. They normally are, except in FOE, where corrupt businessponies crawl out of the woodwork to undermine her and betray Equestria.

Well, bai for now, everypony. I leave you with some Alex S (which reminds me that I should break out the Vinyl sockpuppet again soon)
Look for the signs, the keepers of the flame. They will lead you to war, and perhaps, to victory.
#196119gingerninja 666Wed, 16th May '12 12:42:11 PMfrom Aboard The Damocles
If ponies weren't primarily good natred, then Pip would've had no basis to disagree with Red Eye in the end
besides, how do YOU know there aren't any corrupt business ponies out there?

except we've seen what a bunch of self absorbed, imbecilic plot-holes the "High society" ponies tend to be. Not hard to see some of them doing stuff like that.

@Some I am familiar with the plot. But some character choices are rather surprising. And certain PlayerPunchs actually hurt when you can identify with the characters that much more.
#196122Perpetual LurkerWed, 16th May '12 12:46:02 PM
They wouldn't plan assassinations of government officials and conspire in the murder of millions of innocents in the name of profits, though. They're just snooty.
#196123PannicWed, 16th May '12 12:46:37 PM
Aaaaaand done with the chapter.
#196124Perpetual LurkerWed, 16th May '12 12:47:55 PM
In any case, I'm done talking about it. You know my opinions. I just call things as I see them.
#196125gingerninja 666Wed, 16th May '12 12:48:55 PMfrom Aboard The Damocles
The whole point is that the ponies were thrust into a situation that they weren't naturally built for, so they ended up making EVERY mistake that we made over years of development all at once.
The war terrified and rattled EVERYONE, it's what caused some ponies to turn bad
