... Okay, just learned that creating portals can have unexpected side-effects.

On my journey through hell, I went far from my entry point and crafted another portal for backtracking, inside the stalactite I had appeared on, with a follow-up journey to heading as far down as I could (to the lava sea) and crafting a portal there.

The results? The stalactite linking portal spawned several yards in the air above the ocean, and the lava sea linking portal spawned in a cavern a few yards beneath the ocean.

Becoming king will be much harder than I thought.
