Where do Windigos go when noones being hateful?
If there is anything that you are alone in thinking, it's "thinking that you're alone in thinking of your theories".
And what did they do before ponies?

They feed off themselves in a never ending cycle of feeding.
Don't make me fire Pinky's party cannon.
Hm. Well, Colin's beats my idea. I was going to suggest that either they feed of grffons or that they are embodiments of hatred themselves and so In someways ponies working through their hate and mistrust was effectively genocide.

Deep space is my dwelling place,
and death's my destination.
Maybe they travel the world searching for hate and are summoned when an outbreak occurs.

Y'know, in order to create a benevolent version of "The Rains Of Castamere" (Tywin Lannister's badass boast song from ASOIAF) for Princess Celestia I came up with an idea:
I like to imagine that there was a prominent Unicorn noble who had just inherited a castle from his deceased parents. Too prideful, he refused to leave his keep when the others travelled to Equestria to escape the Windigos. He kept with him his family and his servants and his guards. He lasts for a scant few years before ponies start wanting to leave. He refuses and keeps them locked away. One day, a young Celestia (at this point completely unconnected to Equestria in any way, she was just travelling) arrives and urges him to forsake his pride and to leave for Equestria. She eventually succeeds in coaxing him and the descendents of this stallion become real close to the princesses over the millenia

Sounds like an interesting idea.

When the Windigos left, the founders' original lands became a wasteland? You mean like the one where the Changelings were blasted to?
well, I'm off to bed. Pleasant dreams, everyone.

Next season will bring a combined Changeling/Windigo army

Ok, I've got Calibre installed. Time to figure out how to use it.

Edvedd: I realise it doesn't work, I was being ridiculous.
Now I'm really off to bed, good night.

I still like to think that Windigos are the heralds of Discord. They freeze all the places that Discord would find too boring to bother with, and he'd see any realm that's capable of fending them off as a satisfying venture to invest time in

I like to imagine also that the Fires Of Friendship actually managed to hurt him slightly all those years ago, but they weren't strong enough to fend him off completely and they were eventually overwhelmed

Hmm, this is more complicated than I thought. I guess I'll have to look into it tomorrow.

Can Windigos love?

Do you know if it's possible to download from Google Docs using a plain GET request?
