@Crow Personally, I thought the second one was better than the 1st one. The Shriekers are awesome. They can only see heat.

After that the other 2 decline in quality

The first is good. The second is also good. The third is going downhill and the fourth... NO. There is no TV show

I like Rarity for the reasons already mentioned. The mere fact that they made her a fashionista that doesn't crash and burn into a stereotypical girly-girl helps a lot. I think she's one of the most interesting characters because she's probably the most naturally self-aware of her own flaws.

Twilight is still best pony, though.

I just got to the big meeting with Red Eye at the cathedral. I'd already had part of it spoiled, but it's still amazing.
