Well, to try and elaborate. I like a story where the hero is being beaten, defeated, manipulated, ground down and dominated, but manages to persevere through sheer determination and will power. THAT is badass to me, not the ability to single-hoofedly take out 10 people in a museum all by yourself like Blackjack did (rolls eyes)
