Well, I'm seeing The Avengers today. Let's see if Captain America is as Applejack-y as Ginger says. tongue

Oh, no reason, just felt like posting this again.

[up][up]I mostly just found it funny because the web shooters were the original method. On a personal level I kinda like them; super strength or no it doesn't make much sense for him suddenly to be able to shoot unlimited webs from his wrists. I mean sure, it's hard to say something doesn't make sense when superpowers are involved, but infinite webs in the wrists is still a little bit out there.

Considering if Spider-Man is part spider having web shooting out of his wrists are no more accurate than having little canisters with the webs already made. Its not like spiders in real life spin webs from their legs.

I just like meta heroes having meta abilities as they're main weapon.

That's a nice drawing Eddvedd. Looks a lot more like the canon version of Chrysalis than a lot of fanart I've seen. I like the smooth look of it.

I like the web shooters if ony for nostalgia for the 90's Spider-Man cartoon. I miss 90's superhero cartoons. I remember when the Spider-Man cartoon did a very loose adaptation of Secret Wars. I love crossovers like that, and I remember really liking it. I might have to rewatch to see if it holds up.

There's a tenant in film making that a work should stand on its own

I think this is totally true... from a FILM MAKER'S point of view. The reason they want films to be able to stand alone is so that no prospective audience members will feel like they shouldn't go see it. It's just about maximizing the size of the audience, for the sake of making more profit. Which is fine, nothing wrong with making money.

From an AUDIENCE'S point of view though, looking at a film solely as a work of entertainment, any kind of experimental style is valid, if it's good. The Avengers style, with the intro to the characters split up into individual movies, is great from an audience viewpoint as long as each of the movies is entertaining enough to stand on it's own.

Anyway, tenets in general deserve to be reevaluated regularly, there's no better way for art to become stale and overdone than by blindly accepting traditions as gospel.

/Opinions.

@blue I didn't say that I agreed with it personally, (I think the marvel film universe concept is amazing and intriguing) I'm just pointing out a very prevelant point that might apply for others.

@edvedd I THOUGHT that was how it was spelled. I blame Doctor Who [lol]
