I haven't actually bought a computer in years, I usually just upgrade parts as necessary, but 900 seems a bit much unless you're getting a really high end computer. Be careful when buying prebuilt ones, they're often more expensive than they're worth.

Well the virus protection for one thing. You probably also have a keyboard and mouse already, so you don't need those.
