@Nomuru And it all turned out for the best. Actually socializing is a great way to overcome social issues, and if you can't connect with some people, (Diamond Tiara and Silver Spoon) then you might run into someone else that you do get along with (the rest of the CMC in this case).

Please don't even start with that argument. It goes nowhere and has no bearing on the real moral of that episode.

I've always used Apple Bloom as well. It could go either way, though. Do we have any Word Of God on the spelling?

I've heard that Equestria Daily only accepts the spelling Apple Bloom.

"Applebloom" is more consistant with how "Applejack" is structured, so I guess I'll go with that.
