Well the Wiki page uses the terms Mare, Stallion, and Foal, so the terminology is probably the same.

So watch the Tara Strong, John De Lancie panel, and it appears the Tara got to write (well at least come up with the storyline to) a season 3 episode, AND when asked if Shining armor will show up next season, got very, oops would love to tell you but can't. so take from that what you will.

That part Flutter is got squished in a machine press, it was the fly with a ponies head hat would be in the web
