Mio: Not sure what she means by "that was treading a the mean line".

She probably means that that kind of stuff that Dashie would do as an elder sister would be borderline enough to be perceived as just plain mean. And they probably didn't want to attribute that to Dashie.

About Luna song - my idea that she sing it with Pinkie, or Pinkie teach her about singing for no reason other than fun. Song would be similar to Giggle At The Gostly or Capcakes. Interaction with other ponies would be similar heartwormer.

I guess from what Faust described it really didn't come across as that all that "mean" to me. Then again I always imagined RD being an Aloof Big Sister to Scoots (though probably unintentionally), so yeah.

But main reason why they are not sisters was fact that rest of CMC are sister of Mane Cast so they go with Scoot in diffrent way.

I doubt RD would be somepony intentionally mean. I could easily see her boasting herself, something that would lend Scootaloo to develop an inferiority complex towards her oldder sister, but not intentionally so.

a "mean line" is another way to say "a fine line" or a grey area.

Yeah, I think the idea is that it would be tricky to balance RD's characterization; friendly noogies and the like can easily cross over into straight up bullying if you aren't really careful, and they probably didn't want Rainbow Dash to come across like that.

I think I could see RD as acool big sis. After she all was very nice and patient with applebloom, while she was cutie mark obssesed (lol) for the cuteceañera.

But considering Scootalo's personality she might have been a bit mean towards scootalo if they were sisters.

Yeah, I think that the dynamic could totally work, it just wasn't the best thing for the show. And besides, having all of the CMC be the little sisters of the mane cast would be unnecessary and a little redundant.

I just checked and they have two albums on iTunes, Stop Looking Like Music and Its Easier to be Somebody Else. I was listening to a preview of "Turn On the Stars" on the first album and I swear Ashleigh says "ain't it shitty sometimes" at one point. I was all "Dang! Applejack just cussed!"

Okay... apparently, over the last few days my sister downloaded the first episode of season one to her ipod (legally). Does anyone know how that's possible? If so, do you know how much it costs? Also I'm wondering where the heck she heard about it in the first place. I've never told her about it and we don't GET the station it shows on. Was it featured on itunes or something?
