I personally can't really imagine any of the mane cast in romantic relationships with each other. It's probably a combination of my own shipping aversion and the fact that the whole focus on their friendships permanently friendzones them in my mind. They do have great dynamics together, but just as friends.

Even the ships I ship would actually look really weird on the show. It's more like I enjoy certain ships in fanon, but I don't think I would enjoy it in canon.

Yeah, I'll admit proper realism isn't behind it. I'd give them the boot over the edge if I wanted to ship them, though. Ships and Giggles, remember.

...reminds me, I need to do the revised version of the next chapter of the fic I was working on... guh, once I'm through with this VDC comic, I guess.

I don't take any of the shipping too seriously, I just enjoy seeing how the various fanon works implement it. And some ships are just absurdly adorable.

I don't seriously ship any of the cast. I usually entertain ships out of boredom and to examine character dynamics.

And I actually don't have any strong preferences. The only ships I seem to be adverse to are the ones that involve Pinkie Pie. So far, I think I've read only one Pinkie ship that I thought could work. But it sure is fun to think of Rarity X Pinkie. Although to me it would just not work out. (Like Zutara)

I think that applies to a lot of the fandom, really.

I hear tales of shipping wars in all the other fandoms, but in this one it seems like all of the ships coexist peacefully... and I like to think that's because nobody takes the shipping seriously, they just do it because they think it's cute. The more time goes on the more I think that may at least be the one redeeming feature of the fandom at large.

This has been one of the nicest fanbases I've participated in. Then again, the only other fanbase I've truly been a part of is the Avatar fanbase, so I don't have a lot of room to compare >_>

Yeah, Lyra/Bon Bon is the only ship that is pretty much universal. Although Vinyl/Octavia is also pretty popular, I rarely see those two shipped with anyone else.

I'll admit I've never ventured into any other fandoms... and my opinion on this varies from day to day, but on the whole there feels like there's something remarkably disengenuine about the fandom. I mean, maybe they're all like that, I don't know. I'm pretty much just in it for here, the blog, and the writing at this point. Those parts at least seem real enough.

Only ship I really like and prefer seeing is Vinyl/Octavia. I also like seeing Lyra/Bon-Bon together, but I'm fine if it's just as roommates/freinds for that one.
