I do kinda dislike that people's preferences towards characters sometimes seems to completely hinge on how they treat Fluttershy

Yes, sky blue with a few rainbow touches. And a lot of sporting clothes are black by default, so I suspect she would wear a lot of black as well, at least at competitions and training.

Some cosplayers pull the look off really well. Last year there was an adorable lil' kid dressed as Kinomoto Sakura

◊ at cosfest 2011, and she was simply d'aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaw.

Then at Animax there was a kickass group of Team Fortress 2 cosplayers including an epic SPAI with a Dashie mask

Dash is one of those people who's essentially well meaning, but really bad at it. Enough reason to dislike her, but not hate her. It's nice to see that she is getting better about it, though. Yay, character development!

Well it was interesting. The platforming parts were surprisingly hard. Several of the symbols took me quite a few tries to get.
